Why I Coach

Hi, I’m Angie. I’m a chiropractor, a practice owner, and a business coach for wellness providers. And I love coaching.
I’ve actually been coaching since I was 17—starting on the soccer field. I coached off and on through my early years, and again when my daughter was old enough to play. Once she moved on to a sport I couldn’t coach, I found other ways to teach and lead. I’ve taught high school anatomy. I’ve mentored associates in my own practice. I’ve helped friends through hard chapters and seen our friendships grow stronger because of it.
Teaching, mentoring, guiding—it’s just part of who I am.
Over the years, I’ve mentored other chiropractors—my associates, and other doctors. It’s been one of the most meaningful parts of my career. And now, with a shoulder injury that has taken me out of practice (thanks to a connective tissue disorder that’s made healing a longer road than I’d like), I’m leaning into coaching more intentionally.
I’ve been on both sides of this. I’ve had coaches—some great, some not-so-great. I’ve had people give me advice that didn’t sit right. I’ve also had seasons where I really needed guidance and had no one to ask. And to be honest, I don’t think everyone needs to repeat the mistakes I made in order to grow. That’s the whole point of coaching: to learn from someone who’s been there.
I don’t coach because I think I know everything. I coach because I’ve walked this path—and I know how lonely it can feel, especially for women in practice.
There’s this thing many women carry that doesn’t always get named. It’s called the mental load—the invisible weight of managing not just your business or your job, but your household, your kids’ schedules, the dinner plans (even if you’re not the one cooking), the birthday gifts, the laundry, the appointments, the everything.
It’s a lot. And it adds up. Even when you love what you do.
So I created Heart & Hustle to offer the kind of support I wish I had at key points in my career. A coach who doesn’t demand blind obedience. A coach who doesn’t assume profit is your only goal (this is defiantly one of the top goals though). A coach who sees the heart behind why you started this work in the first place—and helps you build the systems, boundaries, and momentum to keep that heart beating strong.
I’m probably not the coach for someone whose only goal is to be the most profitable practice in town. (Can I help with that? Sure. But that’s not the heartbeat of my work.) I’m here for the doctor who loves serving people but feels stretched thin. The one who wants to do this well—without burning out.
I don’t believe in hustle just for the sake of hustle. I believe in meaningful momentum.
Yes, some seasons will require you to buckle down and work your butt off—but that should come in waves. Not as your default mode. Because life shifts. Some seasons need more of you at home. Others need more of you at work. You can’t give everything to everyone 100% of the time—but you can move with intention. You can build a practice that evolves with your life. And you do deserve support while you do it.
Sometimes, you just need somebody to vent to—someone who gets it. Although we always hope every step forward is productive, the truth is, not every step will be. And that’s okay. Sometimes the most valuable thing is having a space to be honest, to breathe, and to know you're not the only one carrying all of it.
